Hello there! I’m Elise Rowland (EROW) and welcome to my art gallery! I’m 29 and I'm a professional artist currently residing in South Carolina. I'm a crocheter, digital artist, painter (sometimes...), and photographer.
I've been drawing since I was a literal toddler, but that gradually stopped in high school since I was busy being a band geek in the marching band :)
I graduated from Winthrop University in 2019 with a degree in mass communications and a minor in photography. I began my artistic journey again when the pandemic hit, taking it more seriously and pursuing it professionally.
Although I used to consider myself to be more of a digital and traditional artist, my career has changed significantly in just the past couple of years since falling in love with crochet.
My work has always been heavily fandom-oriented or inspired by pop culture elements. I'm a fangirl at heart and always will be. I've only ever created when something really spoke to me. Books, TV shows, movies, theatre, and music are at the core of my inspiration. I draw inspiration from other things such as my own life, current news, work from my favorite artists, and my forever love— Pinterest. My choice of color and style is influenced by the iconic pop art of Andy Warhol. I'm also inspired by William Eggleston's use of color in his photography. My #1 goal with my work is to inspire others to keep creating, even in dark times, and I've accomplished that the most through fanart.
FYI- I do not do commissions. I don't enjoy them and it makes my art process feel like a chore. I make whatever I want and sell it to whoever wants it :)
